The strikeouts are there, but I'm not sure about the ERA/Ratio being on top, though I haven't looked at all of the teams. Back to my anti-closer posts on earnings in ERA/Ratio, I just don't see Fuentes and Aardsma helping there. I like Verlander's price. He's a true ace and went considerably less than the other aces. I know you don't like Cliff Lee, but I think he would have been a nice #2 at his price given the help he gives in ERA/Ratio. It looks like everyone was allergic to the Seattle bullpen. League went for $1. Lowe and White undrafted. I'd prefer them to Millwood and Gio. You already have big K guys in Verlander, Burnett, Vazquez, and Kazmir. No need to run things into the ground with Millwood and Gio in the lineup. I'd FAAB those guys quickly and just use Millwood in favorable matchups.

I really like the discount everyday players on the offense. Crawford was a deal compared to the first rounders. Only Sizemore stands out as better among the premium players. Seems like an overreactive market on Grady. Overbay, Kotchman, Hafner, Shoppach, Callaso, Murphy, Getz, Dye (when he signs) and Pennington are all going to earn nice profits. Nothing mindblowing, but $5 per player adds up. You also seem to have locked up steals with Carl, Rajai, Gardner, and Getz. It would be nice to get points in Runs and RBI even trying to Sweeney.

Looks like a much more reasonable draft than in years past. There aren't too many players who stand out as well overpriced or underpriced. I do like a lot of the middle teen starting pitchers. Lackey, Shields, and Garza look a little cheap to me. Same with Danks, Floyd and Buehrle! No respect for the White Sox starters.

Good luck. Sorry to hear you left so much cash on the table.

You know, some of the starters that went late really went for some nice prices. Millwood and Gio are guys I don't mind owning with weekly transactions.

As for Fuentes and Aardsma, there are two issues. One, I did not anticipate that the top closers would go at the prices they did, and I made a misstep in not getting at least one of them. Two, given the number of innings from my starters, I did not anticipate that either would be painful to own, and I was in a position where I needed two closers...luckily, I don't consider either one an "overpay" per se at the point they came up in the auction.

When I go through more of a round by round analysis, we'll see how the room let me off the hook on offense...I could have been buried.
