Alexi Amarista $4. Other bids: $1, $0.
Amarista
found himself in the free agent pool not once but twice over the past several
weeks. Given that he is playing four to
five times per week, and given our league is a deep N.L.-only, this is odd. On the other hand, production pays, and Amarista
had a productive week last week. So we
will once again bid on prior performance and hope he continues the good run
this week.
Josh Collmenter $2.
Collmenter
gets the Dodgers on Friday. The bad news
is the game is in Arizona . The good news is the Dodgers cannot hit a
lick without Kemp and Ethier in the lineup.
Drew Sutton $1. Other bids: $0.
Sometimes,
to complete a trade, you need to pick someone up. Sutton is likely a five at-bat guy per week,
so he should be ignored in fantasy formats.
Jeff Baker $0.
Baker
started 11 times in June and hit around .200 to show for his time. This is not really “help” for your roster if
you have an open slot.
Manny Corpas $0.
Corpas
blew up this week and Carlos Marmol is hot.
This spells no saves in my book.
Of course, Marmol is also likely to get traded, in which case Corpas
could work himself into a short-term stint as closer.
Jake Diekman $0.
An
acceptable left-hand option out of the bullpen, Diekman has very good
stuff. He struck out 22 hitters in just
over 15 innings at AAA, and the Phillies bullpen could certainly use some help. He will likely see 0 holds and 0 saves.
Jerry Hairston, Jr. $0.
Hairston
is red hot, and seems to be getting most of the playing time now at second base
for the Dodgers. Mark Ellis is expected
back, so Hairston will go back to his bench role, but there is nothing wrong
with riding the wave.
Lucas Harrell $0.
