Mike Minor! I'm tied for second overall (13 back of first) in my NL-only 4x4, tied for 8/10 in wins, but only four wins out of third. I just lost Medlen for the season, acquired Westbrook for Gregerson, and have J. Chacin coming back. I currently have the third-most FAAB, only $4 behind the most and $36 ahead of the fourth-most. I can gain or lose a point in ERA. I can't lose anything in WHIP, but if everything breaks right I could pick up three.
I need a starter and I'm going to go in on Minor too, but I'm a little worried. He's been great at AAA, and maybe he has taken a step up, but I was just a little disheartened by the pasting I saw him take at the AFL All-Star Game. There was some bad luck, but that wasn't all it was. I do wonder whether folks who have seen him pitch this year think he's got better stuff now (the K/IP is definitely better, he's missing bats somehow), and where it comes from -- better FB velocity, better break on the breaking pitches?
How high should a competitive bidder go for Lorenzo Cain this week? I'm probably going to throw a bid in for him. Podsednik somehow snuck through from last week too, so I'm going to be bidding on him as well. Luckily minor isn't starting til Monday so I won't need to worry about bidding on him this week...
