Free Agent Watch - Sunday Edition

Most of the action right now appears to be in the American League - a rash of injuries certainly has all of our AL teams scrambling. The NL, however, is a little less hectic.

Eugenio Velez/Andres TorresAaron Rowand took quite the head-shot the other night from Vicente Padilla. Despite Rowand's iron-man demeanor, he finds himself on the DL. This opens up about two weeks of outfield ABs for Velez and Torres. Torres is a speed play and worth a play in deep NL leagues. Velez, frankly, should be owned in most deep NL leagues, at least on reserve. If he is available, grab him. Schierholtz is not a very exciting player, and unless you hear news that he will be picking up a large number of ABs, I would let him slide.

Reed JohnsonThe tweak to Manny Ramirez' calf does not sound too bad, but just in case, you want to keep your eye on Reed Johnson. He already has 18 AB this year, and he is not a bad 5th OF option in the NL.

I'll see you for the log tomorrow morning :)
