Troy Patton
Hats off to Patton for holding his own as a 21-year old in 102 1/3 Double-A innings and 49 Triple-A innings. That being said, you do not want to own Patton this year, and he's probably not worth holding on to at the waiver price next year. His low K/IP rates tell me that he's in for a rough adjustment if he cracks the opening day roster in 2008, especially in that park. His pedestrian outing against the Pirates is another reason not to be supremely confident. I'd bid as high as $7 if I'm playing for next year, but $3 is a much more realistic bid. I'd stay away if I'm in contention this year.
