Right before September, I decided to jettison a starter so I could save my ERA/WHIP. Unfortunately, I jettisoned the wrong guy.Mike Gianellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04227146501538593197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37316956.post-69383385147370296892007-03-19T18:27:00.000-04:002007-03-19T18:27:00.000-04:00The million dollar question: How did you finish ru...The million dollar question: How did you finish running this strategy?T.J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17847744868968851680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37316956.post-44587744857222626782007-03-19T01:29:00.000-04:002007-03-19T01:29:00.000-04:00Hi Tom.I'm glad you brought up LIMA. I'm going to talk about specific category optimization strategies later this week, including LIMA, as well as the possibility of adding another category to a LIMA strategy.Mike Gianellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04227146501538593197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37316956.post-18440849884951293682007-03-19T01:08:00.000-04:002007-03-19T01:08:00.000-04:00Hey Mike,Scenarios from your previous post:1) The ...Hey Mike,

Scenarios from your previous post:
1) The team with the strongest freeze list has so many cheap freezes that even your best auction isn't going to get you within hailing distance.
2) You went for it last year and you have almost no freezes. The freezes you do have are at or near value, and you just know that even the best auction isn't going to win you the league.

Well, I'm the lucky one who fits BOTH scenarios. As a result of 3 or 4 owners (me included) selling off their teams to finish high, there are 2 or 3 teams that are LOADED with great freezes, and I have a sucky freeze list. Impractical as it may be, I hate the idea of rebuilding. I just always try to play for this year.

AB and IP minimums in our 4X4 league make some category dumps impossible (ie. no Sweeney). I have had some success with the LIMA plan in recent years. Since LIMA is a partial dump for wins, does it make any sense to employ this with another category dump (steals or saves)? Or should you maximize every other category besides the chosen dumpee?Dr. Hibberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17196111364716808134noreply@blogger.com
